The History of the treatment of the Kandamkulathi family starts from Mr. Porinju Vaidyar who lived in the period 1847-1937. He got this knowledge from a “Lada Guru”. He was succeeded by his son Mr. Kunji Paulo Vaidyar (1891-1947). He was followed by his son Mr. Francis Arya Vaidyar (1914-1988) who was also known as “Valiya Vaidyar”. He was a professionally qualified Vaidyan who took his mastership from Kottackal Arya Vaidya Sala and a well renowned physician even at that time and was a member of the palace in treating the Kings who were ruling at that time. In 1945, in recognition of his valuable services to humanity, Sri K P Francis Vaidyar was conferred the distinguished title of ‘Arya’ by His Excellency the Viceroy. Sri K P Francis Arya Vaidyar expired in 1988. He had executed a will prior to his demise to convert his proprietary concern into a traditional treatment center, to be run by his son Dr.Wilson Kandamkulathi DAM from 1979 onwards. He is a qualified ayurveda physician graduated from Shornur Ayurveda Samajam College in 1978 and is managing Kandamkulathi Ayurveda Hospital for the past 40 years. At present Mr.Francis Paul, grandson of Francis Vaidyar is the Managing Director of Kandamkulathi Ayurveda Vaidyasala and Francis Vaidyan’s Ayurveda Vaidyasala Pvt.Ltd.
